Sep 2, 2012 electronic drums
This is a vid of my using my Pyle PTED01 table top drum kit. I’ve had it for 4 weeks and am still finding tons of awesome things to use and try on it. 30 different kit set-ups, 100 songs to play to and you can tweek everything from temp, gain on. Plugs into amp for rocking out or headphone for rocking in! Light and easy to move but the sound is really sweets. Play bongos in the hand setting. What a cool electronic set. I’m going to give one to my nephew this Christmas. Dig it!

Simmons SD5K Electronic Drum Kit
Jul 21, 2012 electronic drums
http://socrdude123.webs.com/
Me reviewing the Simmons SD5K Drum Kit. Just as a reminder, the SD5K kit is the most inexpensive kit, so durability is a factor (in terms of not having much durability). I say this because my bass pad broke, but Simmons was very understanding and replaced it. So don’t get frustrated, because they WILL REPLACE IT.

Pyle-Pro PDKM7 7 Microphone Wired Drum Kit with Mounting Accessories review
Dec 11, 2011 drum kits
I was looking for a cheap way to get some drums miced up in a hurry for this Saturday’s St. Patrick’s Day parade. I took a chance on this kit, even though I have never purchased anything that says “Pyle” on the label. Upon receiving this kit, my first surprise was the quality of the case, and then upon opening, I was surpised to find that these were the EXACT same microphones as the ones I borrowed once from a friend to do some recordings, but branded differently. He paid about 350-400 for his kit (still cheap by today’s standards).
I pulled out 1 overhead condensor and the kick-drum mic and mounted them, fired up the PA and had our drummer play a bit and was shocked at the clarity of the overhead mic! We could probably get away with just using this one microphone to mic the entire kit, or two overheads; they pick up everything very clearly. I turned up the volume on the kick-drum mic and was even more surprised to hear the thump of a much more expensive mic coming out of this seemingly too-small mic. Now, I have a wonderful drum mix coming from only 2 microphones and my mixer has more channels free than I would have expected. For fun, I added one of the tom/snare mics and they sounded equally clear.
After purchasing this, I can tell you that there is absolutely NO way I would purchase one of the “high-end” drum-mic kits. If you are looking for a solution for recording or live sound, this is it. I promise you will LOVE the sound and you will be ecstatic about the price you paid to get that sound.

Roland TD-12KX V-Drum kit demo – Nevada Music UK
Oct 20, 2011 drum kits
http://www.nevadamusic.co.uk/Drums-and-Percussion/Electronic-Drums/Electronic-Drum-Kits/sc1178/p8734.aspx Rolands TD-12KX electronic drum kit is the new and improved version of their best-selling TD-12KV. In addition to the enhanced editing facilities, the TD12 KX features larger, more solid kick and floor tom pads and a sturdier hardware rack with more practical pad mounting and placement. The kit comprises of the brain or central processor unit, a heavy duty stand (all cables are concealed within the tubing to keep things tidy), one 10 snare pad (PD-105), two 8 rack tom pads (PD-85), one 10″ floor tom (PD-105), a 12 kick pad (KD-120), three 12 cymbal pads (CY-12R/C) and Rolands unique VH-11 Hi-hats. All of the TD12KX’s drum pads have duel pad and rim triggering, and feature the high quality mesh heads which have earned Roland the reputation of the most natural feeling electronic drum kit on the market. It’s also possible to expand the kit by adding extra cymbals or pads.
The TD12 brain unit shares many of the same features as the processor on the high-end range TD20 model. Similarities include a large icon-based LCD screen, instrument mixer and sturdy metal construction. You will find over 500 separate drum, cymbal and percussion sounds onboard (and a staggering 171,000 variations of these sounds!)all of which can be used to create your perfect kit, or to customise one of the 50 preset kits.
The sounds are incredibly realistic and respond just like a real drum would, depending on how hard or fast you play. Every instrument is fully customisable, allowing you to modify almost anything from the virtual shell depth and head tension of the drum to how many bits of gaffa tape youd put on the skin to dampen it! The TD12KX also allows you to add varying degrees of ambience to the sounds via its comprehensive multi-effects and reverb processor. It’s also fully MIDI compatible and will integrate seamlessly with any MIDI setup.
A welcome addition to the TD12 is the onboard sequencer. This allows you to record yourself (up to 20,000 notes) or jam along with one of the 150 preset patterns and is therefore much more than just a glorified metronome (which, of course, the TD12 also has on-board). Any of the preset loops or instrument sounds can be assigned to any pad for easy triggering, allowing you to integrate them seamlessly into your live performances.

Roland TD4 Drum Kit Demo – Nevada Music UK
Sep 24, 2011 drum kits
http://www.nevadamusic.co.uk/drums/electronic/roland-td-4k2-electronic-drum-kit-package-including-pedal-stool-headphones–sticks Check out some of the sounds and features of the Roland new TD4k electronic drum kit.
New video here too !! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NdN6P66SWn8
The Roland TD4K V-Drum Kit takes over where the TD-3 left off except that the TD-4 has a host of new features and four times the wave memory of its predecessor … There’s also a new re-enforced drum stand that’s still just as lightweight and compact but now a whole lot stronger, aside from the new stand Roland have supplemented the TD-4 with a centre mounted sound module that contains new sounds and sensors within the pads that have an even greater degree of touch sensitivity …
The snare pad has a patented mesh head for improved feel and resonance, whilst the toms and cymbals are velocity sensitive with the cymbals also having a “choke” capability. The TD4K is also expandable to include an optional pad or if preferred the user can replace the ride cymbal to a CY-12R/C 3-way trigger V-Cymbal, the kit is also compatible with the optional VH-11 V-Hi-Hat which can be mounted on a conventional hi-hat stand.
Pre-programmed kit patches can be customised by the ability to tune and dampen each drum to the user’s own preference whilst ambient effects such as reverb can also be controlled to suit the occasion. To improve your playing skills Roland have also included their acclaimed Coach Mode which tests and trains drumming skills such as timing, accuracy and stamina. The Coach programme offers a diverse range of drumming excercises that can run for 5, 10 or 15 minutes and are ideal as warm-up routines for live gigs or studio sessions .
