    This not like …
This not like analog vs digital this is analog vs digital. The debate over the two has been going on for some time. In my opinion both analog and digital have pros and cons. Both are good in there own rights.

    Neil Peart IMO is …
Neil Peart IMO is an over rated accent player and has no knowledge of ghost notes whatsoever. Electric drums have a different “Feel” to them as “Acoustic” would.

  9. bloodsling Says:

    Neil Peart uses …
Neil Peart uses electric drums,or at least electric elements mixed into his acoustic set up,so if electric drums are good enough for Neil that should pretty much end the debate

  10. pcs56 Says:

    Electric keyboards, …
Electric keyboards, electric guitars, electric drums…same difference….

  11. pcs56 Says:

    And if you use …
And if you use EZDrummer and record midi tracks, you can fix a mistake with the click of a mouse and I promise, nobody (not even drummers) will know the difference.

  12. pcs56 Says:

    I have been playing …
I have been playing drums 40 years and I can’t tell the difference in the sound when I hear/play EZDrummer or Addictive Drums from real drums. I was like you: thought electronic drums were a joke. But I play them now. I still have my acoustic kit, but my electric kit gets played the most. They are very unforgiving but once you learn to play them, they feel like “drums”.

hey Cena i have an …
hey Cena i have an acoustic kit and have bought some sound offs and i am buying some triggers and a module for it but i cant fing any triggers to attach to my acoustic cymbals, just actual e cymbals, do you know any acoustic cymbal triggers for a reasonable price, please respond,

    yes

  15. soundboy3 Says:

    try triggering …
try triggering Superior Drummer or Addictive Drums or BFD2 via midi sometime, you’ll change your mind completely.

  16. soundboy3 Says:

    e drums, especially …
e drums, especially programs like Superior Drummer HAVE feel. If you’re not hearing ‘feel’, its called BAD PROGRAMMING or just plain BAD DRUMMING. The sounds are all there, they’re velocity sensitive, you can eq or add effects to any drum/cymbal, you can even set the ‘bleed’ so you hear snare in your tom mics or hihat mic etc… Unless you’re spending mondo cash on a top notch studio, you’re not going to get better sounds. Again, ‘feel’ depends on the drummer or programmer, NOT the edrums.

    Its all personal …
Its all personal opinion, some people like the e drums for having perfect sound but some people cant stand having no feel, its all personal opinion

    QUESTION:
Can e-drums determine different dynamic levels like accented notes?

  21. 88beauzeau88 Says:

    Yeah whatever. …
Yeah whatever. I’m sure you would never own an electric car either. Probably because ‘they don’t feel real like a REAL car’. There’s always some schmuck in the corner who feels good about himself when he says “this new fangled isn’t as good as the “good old” shit”. These guys usually say this about everything. “oh, color photography is a joke”. “Oh, I don’t like music today, it sucks compared to the music WE grew up with”. Whatever. Stick with your old acoustic drums buddy.
