also sorry to bother one more question, the kit is it easily adaptable to my own sounds for example can i use the template to make my own fairly easy? for example i use a lot of laser sound effects and i want them all on one knob , ok as well lets say i pick one kick and record it, if i change that knob again is it like midi and only the selected kick will play, or will it actually play both kicks? do i make sense? thanks

professionals use …
professionals use both. Professionals tend to have deadlines so they need to work quickly. They typically layer a few samples to get a unique sound. There is certainly no shame in recording a preset straight from a drum machine or sample library. Many “pros” sample off other records as well.

No real trick for …
No real trick for that. I would just create another drum rack. However, it’s a good idea to not give yourself too many choices when you are trying to finish a song, that can slow you down. Better to make sure each sample is quality.

Awesome video! I’m curious how you go about handling more than 128 samples? Do you just create more instances of the Drum Kit, or do you have another trick up your sleeve?

Aah junk, okay, so you can add sound files, but not .adg files. Learnt something new (whhhyyyy). If you can explain that, that’d be nice, but if not, back to making sounds for me : /
(Do professionals use drum sounds sold by others, or do they make their own?)

Hi there, I really …
Hi there, I really like your tutorials and they’ve been very helpful to me
I’m using Live 8.2.1 PC, and I can’t add multiple searched kicks into the instrument rack, it keeps denying me (stop sign on cursor). I can add tracks one by one, but that seems very arduous, do you think you know what the problem is?

i’d have to see your problem with my own eyes. unfortunately I can’t figure out why you are having that issue with the information you’ve given me. Good luck though, I’ll give it some thought.

Nice one. Been thinking recently about doing this, after I spent ages sorting through my samples.
I’d add that you should select ‘Auto’ on your chain selector then select ‘Hide’ to get rid of it. Means the sampler you’re using will automatically appear.
